Anyone can learn to write with creativity in USU's new club - USU Statesman

NOTE: UTAH Anyone can learn to write with creativity in USU's new club - USU Statesman : "The Creative Writing Club is a group that caters to students who love writing things like fiction, poetry and narrative essays. The club was started in March by friends Rebecca Thorpe, a junior in landscape architecture, and Lisa Montgomery, a sophomore in English. 'I love the creative writing classes,' Montgomery said. 'The teachers are great. I love the program.' But she wanted more. In-class writing just wasn't enough. Since Thorpe isn't an English major, she wasn't taking any writing classes but still enjoyed writing, and did it on her own time outside of schoolwork. She and Montgomery began swapping stories, critiquing each others work and giving feedback to enhance their work. This sparked the idea that it would be more beneficial to do the same thing with a number of other people as well, and the Creative Writing Club was born."

Ed Dale's Challenge 2010 Review by Gayle McLaughlin

This is my third year taking this free online class from Ed Dale, The Challenge 2010. A completely free seminar for online bloggers and internet marketing newbies, I first found out about this course from Janet Ford, my Ehow guru. Ed Dale stresses that anyone on any level can participate and learn a wealth of information. I am one of those people who have been blessed by learning so much. In 2008, I learned about Google Reader and RSS feeds from The Challenge. This year I was able to use a free software, Market Samurai, Wordpress Direct and Traffic Bug that I enjoyed evaluating. Prior to 2010, the Challenge was known as the 30 day Challenge. Participants had 30 days to try out all the ideas and and new software available. I have participated in 2008 and 2009, but I never finished the entire Challenge. This year the format changed. They changed the teaching and action steps to 30 minutes a day. One week on and one week off. I finished the entire Challenge of seven modules ov...

List My Five Review by Shirley Philbrick

I just wanted to share my thoughts and opinions on the latest rave in the residual income writing world: ListMyFive.  Personally, I think if they don't try to grow too quickly, that they stand a chance of being a viable option for earning some residual income. Of course, like most of these sites, they won't tell their "proprietary formula" for the earning structure, but as writers we just really want to know we're not going to waste our time - bottom line. The lists are relatively easy to write, but I am noticing that just like at eHow, the less control over the content by the website, the more garbage is going to get thrown on there. LM5 will find they will eventually need some editorial control or they, like eHow did, will have a major content clean up to do.  Unfortunately, new sites need large quantities of content therefore they take the good, bad and the downright ugly. But then they have to clean out the crap to keep the stuff that is actually something s...
