We’ve all seen It You share a link to
your article, your product, or your collection maybe through a referral, maybe
through paid ads and your customer clicks, ready to explore your work.
And what greets them?
- Not your carefully written description.
- Not your thoughtfully styled shop section or related blog posts.
- Not even a line about who created the work they came to see.
Instead? A carousel of unrelated products. Other sellers. Other posts. Other creators. Your content gets buried below the fold or hidden entirely. This isn’t just frustrating. It’s a broken user experience. And creatives across industries are feeling the sting.
Why This Matters
As platform fees climb and algorithms shift, visibility has become more than a
perk it's survival. Writers, resellers, and creators are paying more while
seeing less. When your promoted link sends traffic to a page dominated by
unrelated content, it’s not just a missed opportunity it’s a conversion loss.
Studies from Shopify and Hotjar show that visitors decide whether to engage or bounce within seconds. If your value proposition isn’t front and center above the fold the moment passes, and the customer moves on.
What Should Happen Instead
A more intuitive, creator-friendly landing structure might look like this:
- Top of Page: Featured product or post with
description, price, and any personalization options
- Right Below: A curated block of matching
content from the same creator
- Optional Line: A quick intro linking to the
creator’s profile, blog, or storefront
This isn’t about special treatment. It’s about honoring
the journey a customer/content reader has already started.
Whether it's a storefront, a freelance article, or a
seasonal collection this kind of misplacement breaks the connection.
It interrupts the conversation between creator and
customer. And that’s a conversation we’ve worked hard to start.
